Social Studies K - Parent & Teacher Guide
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
The purpose of this course is to guide kindergarten students on the path to seeing themselves as active and valued participants in their communities. You will find values woven into every lesson, including the values of respect, democracy, cooperation, and equality. This course provides students with opportunities to think about how society functions and how they can be productive citizens in society. It presents these ideas in terms that a kindergartner can visualize and understand. In order to begin laying the foundation for understanding the past, this course asks students to first understand how people and groups of people get things done in the context that is most relevant to five- and six-year-olds: their own families and communities.
