
The Book of the Ping Zhun Rogue is Liang Yusheng's best work, which has been the subject of several TV dramas. The book shows the theme of patriotism and protection of the people through the conflicts between the Zhu Ming Dynasty and Zhang Shicheng's descendants, the struggles between the treacherous eunuchs and the loyal and righteous, and the ethnic conflicts between the Central Plains and Mongolia. The protagonist, Zhang Danfeng, grew up in the Warat tribe in the north of the desert. In order to avenge the defeat of his ancestor in the Yangtze River and the killing of his ancestors, he returns to the Central Plains, intending to fight with the descendants of Zhu Yuanzhang again for the world. During his journey, he meets Yun Lei, the granddaughter of a Ming loyalist, Yun Jing, and falls in love with her before realizing that the two families are feuding. Shortly after Zhang's return to China, Wala invaded China, followed by the Ming Emperor's death.
