Tales of the Jazz Age: F.S. Fitzgerald

The 1920's proved the most influential decade of Fitzgerald's development. "Tales of the Jazz Age," his 1922 exquisite collection of short stories, demonstrates the writer's interest in the same themes and motifs central to "The Great Gatsby," Fitzgerald's masterpiece published in 1926. This collection of short stories is also a literary testimony about the Lost Generation: Fitzgerald made several excursions to Europe, notably Paris and the French Riviera, and became friends with many members of the American expatriate community in Paris, notably Ernest Hemingway and Gertrude Stein.
