Lois Lambert and her husband own a very small weekly newspaper in southeastern Montana. She started reporting and offering the occasional humorous editorial before being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1989. She had just turned 38. By the time she was 42, she was a quadriplegic.
Despite progressing impairment, she says her life keeps getting better. Lois’s newspaper contributions have accelerated; she is involved in Chamber of Commerce, Cemetery Board, and hosts a monthly book club meeting. Her husband wants to retire and sell the newspaper, but Lois wants to continue writing her weekly column and perhaps another book.
