The images in this book are from my files of Europe slides totalling over 1500 and taken during my assignment with the U.S. Force 1970-1975. You
might think they are perhaps outdated but in reality while in our country structures of 50-75 years old are often due to be replaced, nearly all facilities in Europe are maybe hundreds or thousands of years old.
During the time I was assigned on the continent the Iron Curtain was in existence, meaning I was not authorized to be any closer than 1/2 miles to the East German Border. Thus my family and I were
limited in our touring of Europe to what then was
Western Europe. By choice we travelled only in
countries closer to home due to return travel time.
In several instances we were treated like royalty and sometimes we were the first Americans to have
visited a particular locale. Finally, I hope you enjoy viewing this book of scenes seen perhaps by a relative few travellers.
