This Romance by Louis Glass is the 2nd movement from the Second Sonata op. 29 for violin and piano and an arrangement by the composer for violin and orchestra. It is dedicated to the then conductor and violinist of the Royal Chapel Copenhagen "Herrn Georg Høeberg". It is an intense and romantic work in the type of the "Nordic Romance", as we are familiar with it from Grieg, Svendsen or Sibelius. Already in this Romance Glass reveals himself as a "wise and nice composer". The 2nd violin sonata was published in 1904; an excerpt of this second movement was also published in 1919 by the music publisher Hansen. Further details about performances of the orchestral version are not known.
