It was first published in 1936 and contains more than three years of teaching Anne Shirley at a high school in Summerside, Prince Edward Island. The novel tells of a series of letters from Anne to her target Gilbert Bryce, who are about to complete her medical school. In chronological order, this book is the fourth book in the series, but it is the seventh book. Lucy Maud Montgomery (1874 to 1942) was a Canadian writer, best known for a series of novels beginning with 'Anne of the Green Gables'. Montgomery publishes 20 novels as well as 530 short stories, 500 poems and 30 essays.
