The story begins with the fact that the main character named Ada transfers to a new school, she is filled with good thoughts, she is filled with hope for a bright, good future. Over time, it all dissipates, she is immediately bullied at school, and problems appear at home. Father started gambling and spending all his money on booze and cigarettes. The only thing that keeps the main character from crying and holding on is her own mother. In grade 9, the situation becomes even worse. The father begins not only to drink, but also to beat the mother and the main character. At school, everything is not so smooth either, her classmates, namely four of her classmates named Calvin, Ethan, Leo, Ayla go to a new level of bullying Ada. Now the main character suffers even more, the four forcibly dragged the girl into an abandoned house and abused her there, causing unbearable pain. They burned her skin, made numerous cuts and humiliated the girl in every way. At the end of the 11th grade, the situation became even worse, one day the girl came home and saw her father pulling her mother's hair.
