Tadpoles, Dried Beans, and Sunflowers

This is a book set in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia during the time when the old coal mines were either shut down or, as this story reflects, converted to another industry. During the construction of the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine in Beckley, WV, a community thrived where "old timers" kept and raised those "new comers". Kids were kids, and the elder Appalachian folk had wonderful ideas and traditions that as much as possible in our new technology oriented culture needs to be documented.
