Mamma Gram is a forty-eight year old mathematics teacher. Having experienced a lengthy, stressful time at school, she is unexpectedly diagnosed with breast cancer and suddenly her life is turned upside-down. This is an accurate and factual account of eighteen months of her life as she coped with her diagnosis and treatment, the impact it had on her family and friends and life afterwards. She has written her book with the intention of helping other women faced with a potential life-threatening disease come through the ordeal. All events are true but the names of the people involved have been changed.
The book is written in the form of a diary with lighter hearted moments, illustrations and quotations from various sources. It does not profess to be a medical dictionary but is an autobiography written with hindsight, insight and foresight.
