'REVALUED GEMS (Volume 1)'

This book ('REVALUED GEMS (Volume 1)' covers a lot of the revalued overprinted notgeld (I call them OVPs). The notes were initially issued between 1914-1923 with their original face values....... but they have then been revalued for use in the inflation and hyper-inflationary period of 1922 - 1923. There are a couple of examples of notgeld that, when issued, had their face values amended around the same time of issue.....but the majority of the notgeld depicted here were issued in 1921 (serienscheine) and other types from either 1918, 1922 or early 1923. The notgeld depicted in this book all had an original face value that has subsequently been increased by a revaluation overprint. A good example would be a 50pf note that has been later revalued to 1 million mark or a 5 million mark note that has been revalued to 2 milliarden mark. All the serienscheine overprints are covered + other revalued pieces from the other notgeld categories (A - K).
