How rational is voting: a theoretical and empirical exploration

This work has been planned as an empirical contribution to the literature on the paradox of not voting. Recent developments provides a chance for modeling voter behavior in a dynamic sense and predicting relatively high level of turnout, by assuming the starting point to be exogenous. The lack of empirical evidences in favor – or against – dynamic models provides a challenge for empirical researchers and this work has been planned with this motivation in mind.
