Annie, a second-third grader, gets her first pet, a pig, and as she learns to take responsibility for it, it teaches her many life lessons. These lessons not only give her an opportunity to become a working part of the family, but give her an opportunity to show her ingenuity and tenacity at a very early age, helping her parents attain a lifelong dream in the process.
