The protagonist, Marco Zubelli, finds himself involved in an ambiguous love affair with Roberta, a misterious girl he meets an evening in a restaurant, coming home from a business trip. After meeting the girl, the life of this quiet ordinary man changes suddenly. Marco will soon discover that the girl is a heiress and, involved in a whirl of shock-provocking events,he finds himself unwillingly forced to begin a dangerous and highly intriguing travel from Italy to Uzbekistan. When Marco comes back to Italy, he -again- finds himself in troubles since he gets involved in a kidnapping. Finally, the passion for onions that Marco shares with Roberta will be the thread that will lead the protagonist to meet his love again.
