Marion Foster Washburne (1863-1944) was a fascinating woman, years ahead of her time: a successful writer, editor, teacher, crusader, philosopher, a mystic, and in her own way deeply religious. Among the best known of her friends were such persons as Alexander Graham Bell, Albert Einstein, John Dewey, Susan B. Anthony, and Clarence Darrow.
Her story is a window into one of the most interesting periods of intellectual development in American history.
