Despite living through evacuation and WW2 I became a confident, outgoing teenager, entertaining the public with my singing and even travelling to Singapore in the Far East with the WRAC.
No one could have envisaged, however, the far reaching effects the `abandonment' of evacuation and the fear had imprinted on my mind.
After a short traumatic first marriage I became filled with Agoraphobia and panic attacks. My weight plummetted from 9st 13lb to 7st 3lb almost overnight and I was admitted to a mental hospital.
My book also tells of how I coped with raising a a family of six whilst still being plagued with Anxiety and Panic Attacks.
There were of course many happy times and humour is splashed through the writing. I have written this book to give hope and upliftment to anyone who can relate to the circumstances in it and to show that there really is `light at the end of the tunnel'.
