Katy says “I Can Play The Violin” is a novel approach to learning to play the violin using multi-ethnic and popular cultural styles from rock, jazz, and pop, to classical and folk styles.
Anyone can do it!
The programme exploits the idiomatic technical and expressive qualities of the instrument. It can be used in a class, small group or individual private lesson.
You can choose between the fully numbered-notes version which includes a reading programme or the more challenging none-numbered version.
The CDs are essential for the effectiveness and enjoyment of this programme having original melody tracks for listening and learning the repertoire, and separate “-1” track CDs containing backing tracks for practice and performance purposes.
This cross-cultural approach was developed by the composer over 30 years as a peripatetic teacher in a multi-ethnic local education authority in the U.K.
