Natsukashisa: Birchbound, A Month of Sundays, I - X

Natsukashisa is the Japanese term for “bittersweet remembrance.” A Month of Sundays was conceived of as a haiku poem novel that bleeds between performance and meditation about the interaction of place and people, about the slow blossoming love affair that people have with place, and the difficulty in a very urbanized world to experience place. It was meant to be a type of inverse of the travel poetry of Japan written over 500 years ago. Instead of a record of moving through different places, it was meant as a record of moving through a constrained space. It became a lot more, showing huge variety that one can experience and take solace in even in curtailed circumstances. Originally conceived to 'last' 30 Sundays (i.e., a month of Sundays), when I reached 30 Sundays, I wondered about a year? When that was done, I wondered about another? And another? I stopped wondering. Any bioregion deserves its own appreciative NATSUKASHISA. This is the collection volume--ten years of Natsukashisa.
