The Hermetica are a body of mystical texts written in late antiquity. The collection as known today was first compiled by medieval Byzantine editors.
It was translated into Latin in the 15th century by the Italian humanist scholars Marsilio Ficino (1433–1499) and Lodovico Lazzarelli (1447–1500).
The author, a mythical figure named Hermes Trismegistus, was thought to be a contemporary of Moses.
The Hermetic philosophy was regarded as an ancient theology, parallel to the revealed wisdom of the Bible, supporting Biblical revelation and culminating in the Platonic philosophical tradition.
The Corpus Hermeticum advanced Monotheism worldwide in Christianity, Judaism and Islam.
It was especially considered to be important during the Renaissance and the Reformation, in which Hermeticism would often function as a type of intermediate position between Monotheism and Metaphysics.
Hermes' work ensured that any writing attributed to him would take an important place in Ficino's doctrine of the 'prisca theologia', which affirms that a universal truth exists, that is omnipresent in the world and was given by God to Humanity in the past, so that Peace can be manifested on Earth.
On that note we wish to remind all People that Peace on Earth is possible.
The importance of belonging to Humanity takes precedence over all the distinctions that may separate one person from another.
The thing that matters most is not that we have any particular cultural or national identity, or that we abide by any particular religious or philosophical conviction, but that we share with all People the highest values of Humanity: Love, Cooperation and Compassion.
We encourage all Global Citizens to promote Peacebuilding to manifest the UN Charter in the Global Community.
