"Cyril Ramaphosa: The Road to Presidential Power" (2019) By Anthony Butler A very thorough and sophisticated biography from an established highly respected English gentleman, who took this academic project very seriously indeed. It tells the full story of President Cyril Ramaphosa's life and political career - from township youth, student activist, union leader, close confidante of Nelson Mandella to successful business man - and ultimately President of South Africa! As alluded to in this biography, Cyril's yearning for approval and acceptance is also sometimes revealed in his sensitivity to criticism. Cyril once attended a weekend business strategy workshop, at which the participants, sitting around small tables, had to write down the good and bad characteristics of other members of their team. The purpose of such excruciating exercises is to encourage participants to be more open about feelings, they hide in the office. When the anonymous contributions were read out, most participants took criticism of themselves in good grace. Cyril, however, looked very cross about what were only mild critical remarks, and went on to sulk for the entire weekend.... But no worries :) In view of that information, I'll go easy here on my dear friend Cyril Ramaphosa and not criticize him too much :) On that note, we wish to emphasize that a truly great president eventually has to lead from the front, and by personal conviction - which includes bringing corrupt politicians, officials and business men to Justice, no matter of what political affiliation they may be. In the sense: "Nobody, no family, is above the Law." In the current atmosphere of corruption, dissatisfaction and blame-game politics, there is yearning for leadership that places country above party - to manifest Equality, Prosperity, Safety and Happiness for ALL South Africans. In the sense: "We can make this country the garden of Eden." It is also imperative to manifest a fair, safe and healthy work environment for the People of Africa. God Bless South Africa 🇿🇦 Mark and Cyril PS: To end homelessness and poverty in South Africa - and improve Equality, Education and Social Cohesion - a Universal Basic Income (UBI) should be implemented in South Africa. It can be quite easily financed in the Global Community, as explained by Karl Widerquist's book "Universal Basic Income". A UBI would also help women to liberate themselves from oppressive relationships and protect Children from domestic violence.
