Hence we must do everything in our power to protect Trees, who are one of the greatest resources of the Earth. On that note we encourage our dear friend President Cyril Ramaphosa - and the Government of National Unity (GNU) - to make more resources available for the protection of our trees and implement more tree planting projects, which includes education and workshops to protect and safeguard our Trees. South Africans from a range of backgrounds – writers, conservationists, historians and tree lovers of all stripes – offer intimate tales of their encounters with these extraordinary beings: from forest giants to shade-giving childhood companions, from urban landmarks to remote desert dwellers, from mighty baobabs to storied vines. Each account distils the essence of a beloved tree and shows how its long life is interwoven with human culture and history. Tree Encounters is a moving homage to these quiet, powerful mainstays of the natural world – and a compelling plea for the protection of the Trees on Earth. PS: This work also highlights the profound stories of trees, which are intermingled with humanity - the profound bond between Trees and People being of a very robust, rigorous and rustic nature: A relationship not only of survival, exploitation and betrayal; but also of Beauty, Passion, Poetry and Love! NB: My favorite tree is the English Oak - being symbolic of the strong and solid relationship between me and my girl Kate from MI6. Like the great oak, my bond with Kate is not only of a lovely, lush and lascivious nature, but has also deep roots - which go down to the very essence of Love, Magic and Mystery! On that note, we encourage our dear friend Charles III to assist us in the protection and plantation of Trees on Earth. Perhaps King Charles can also knight Champion Trees. That might also help. As Leader of the UK we also wish to apologize on behalf of the Royal Family - and the British Empire - that Queen Victoria never visited the trees of the Camphor Avenue in the Cape; which were planted in her honor.
