Before Dr. Karl Sternau studied medicine in Paris, he explored the New World, sailed across the Pacific Ocean, made his way through the East Indies and Africa: he '...travelled not only the Wild West but also ‘battled the Bedouins of the Sahara, the Malays of the East-India Archipelago, and the Papuas of New Holland...’, and even ‘hunted tigers, panthers, elephants and lions’. The Matava-Se Chronicles for the first time tell of those travels; they took place between 1839 and 1843.
