Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
Mary W. Shelley began writing Frankenstein in 1816 and completed it in April/May 1817. The book was first published on January 1, 1818, by the London publishing house of Lackington, Hughes, Harding, Mavor, & Jones. It was issued anonymously in an edition of just 500 copies in three volumes, the standard "triple-decker" format for 19th-century first editions. On October 31, 1831, the first "popular" edition in one volume appeared, published by Henry Colburn & Richard Bentley. This edition was heavily revised by Mary Shelley.
