Growth and Friendship: A Collection of Works

This collection of stories explores topics including family, conflicts in friendships, and the discovery of new friends. We first journey through a hard situation between best friends Mark and Luke, as Mark and his family face an impending move. Following this short story is a detailed account of my first day at a new music school. This perspective gives insight into the process of making music and what it was like for me in an unfamiliar environment. Following that story is a poem about a lonely Flamingo. Kenny the Flamingo learns the power of friendship and the importance of branching out of his comfort zone of the pond. Additionally, there are 3 short haikus about various themes present in my life. I found these haikus to be very powerful messages and experiences in my life, and I hope that the audience will be able to relate to these topics. Lastly, I explain the personal importance that being in orchestra has had on my life and the experiences I have had throughout my time in the program. This last piece was my favorite to put together and the experiences I wrote about hold great significance in my life. A common theme of growth and friendship is evident throughout this publication.
