Though preaching matters greatly to Unitarian Universalists, we have not seriously engaged the theology of preaching. This book corrects this error by explaining the major themes of current Unitarian Universalist theology and applying these themes to the traditional questions of homiletics: the church, God, text, worship, and authority.
Major homiletic thinkers are analyzed from a UU perspective, and suggestions are made for how to put these theories of preaching to use in our context.
The author, the Rev. Dr. Matthew Johnson-Doyle, has 10 years of parish ministry experience. He received his D.Min. in Preaching from Iliff School of Theology in 2010.
