Poetry, prose-poetry, and fiction were written between 2002-2006 for the most part, while I was attending, itinerantly, UC Santa Cruz and Cabrillo College as well, even less often, in Aptos, CA. Despite the sense of sort of pretentious, early loitering airs, I had been writing poetry since I was 14 at this point, born September 26, 1984, and had every intention of eventually outdoing Shakespeare even to this date, far from my early, isolated airs in the Dos Pueblos HS library thinking same, and despite knowing that my makeshift obsessions with Sam Beckett, T.S. Eliot, and Octavio Paz were doing nothing for my earlier admiration of E.E. Cummings, Sylvia Plath and Emily Dickinson, etc.,i n my own defense, and where my early admiration for and aesthetic experiments with East Asian influenced both writing and art/calligraphy began. I regret that these transcriptions cannot be shown as well in their original handwriting. Sigh. Take care to read with the idea that this is a neglected, suffering, child abuse victim who is mentally ill with depression and other anxiety/neurosis from smoking cannabis and cigarettes compulsively and who fully identifies with the Albert Camus reference in The Magnetic Fields song, "drink Vermouth and read Camus" was the thing, I promise. And I was a well-intentioned young person trying to change things in this country by 17 already, because of a wide variety of factors (had already marched in March 2003 against the Iraq War, with about 3mn other college students across the country, etc.). I <3 Iraq was the sentiment at the time, scrawled on a Kresge College bench in chalk. Sigh. Times have changed, for the better, soon, I hope!
