The studio was opened in Milan in 1988 by Maurizio Carones (1960, master degree and Ph.D. from the Politecnico di Milano), since when many architects and collaborators have participated in a variety of small and large scale architectural and urban design projects. Since 2006 the main partners of Studio di Architettura Maurizio Carones are Hang-Joon Gio (1973, master degree and Ph.D. from IUAV Venice, he is now based in Seoul) and Luca Scalingi (1977, master degree from the Politecnico di Milano), both of whom collaborate on a continuous basis with Maurizio Carones. Chiara Rebora (1991, master degree from the Politecnico di Milano) has been cooperating from 2016 in the project activities, while Alessandro Dipierro (1983, bachelor degree from the Università La Sapienza in Rome) has been collaborating in the field of detail design since 2012. The studio also has collaborators based in Seoul, Frankfurt and Luxemburg.
