This book tells of the incredible journey of 81 days, undertaken by a Father and Daughter to kayak around the South Island of New Zealand. Readers can follow author Max Grant’s journey with his daughter, Melanie, throughout their kayaking adventure in Fiordland and beyond to the many places they encountered during their circumnavigation of what is considered to be one of the most spectacular coastlines in the World. The book is very well illustrated with 149 coloured photos taken along the way and 18 maps to show their progress. This book tells of their fears, their doubts, and the joys that were all part of the journey. The places they visited and the people they met along the way, makes for a fascinating story - a journey deeper and more involved than simply paddling a kayak 2,750 kilometres around New Zealand’s most rugged coastline.
