Los migrantes en tiempos de autonomías

This is a response to: A recent study carried out by the United Nations indicates that among 1996 and 2005, the number of countries that want to reduce the international migration has diminished from 40% up to 22 %. This one is an encouraging sign. In spite of the bad press and the numerous controversies, the governments and the communities are recognizing increasingly the value of the international migration. Really, several recent analyses agree in that, in spite of some disadvantages, the cross-border migration can redound to substantial benefits, both for the own migrants and for the lands of origin and of destination. Provided that, at least at in principle, the migration is at the same time a need and an advantage for both parts, why is it such a contentious topic? Why are so many countries straining increasingly for restricting the immigration?. UNFPA
