The book "Sexual Education" with the subtitle "Puberty, Menstruation, Marriage, Virginity, Child Rearing" is the work of Medical Doctor. Zarghona Obaidi and deals with various sexual issues, particularly those that cause difficulties for girls and women in Afghanistan. M.D. Zarghona Obaidi-Teebken (Zarghona Obaidi) is an Afghan gynecologist , women's rights activist, and researcher who has lived in Germany since 1992 and is the chairwoman of the Asamai e.V. association. She worked as a gynecologist at the Malalai-Zezhanton women's hospital in Kabul and as a lecturer at the Kabul Medical Institute. The book "Sexual Education" is written to be easily understood by readers. As a gynecologist, M.D. Zarghona Obaidi has gradually removed the social, cultural, and religious taboos of the "female body" from the judgments of the patriarchal and religious system and has opened a new perspective for Afghan readers on the problems of Afghan women by describing the interactions of the female body as a normal scientific category. While the author addresses taboo topics in Afghan society such as menstruation, the wedding night, masturbation, different sexual orientations, and changes during puberty, she opens a new and acceptable door to these taboos as a doctor. The aim of this work is to contribute to a normal human understanding and acceptable solutions to problems – nothing more. Prominent figures like Dr. Hasina Osman Dawood, a doctor, and Khaleda Khorsand, a researcher and women's rights activist, have written notes on this work and assessed it as important and as the first step in this field in Afghanistan. Yes, talking about such topics has become normal in developed countries and is even part of school curricula. Unfortunately, in Afghanistan, even during the Republic, there was no social and political atmosphere to deal with these issues.
