field notes poems of the lost and found

The poems in this book bear witness to what is lost, what is rebuilt and what love teaches us as we wade through both uncertainty and events we never anticipated. A year before the pandemic, my daughter asked if I’d like to pair poems with her photos on a website she aptly named “My Photos, Her Poems.” A year later, countries around the world shut down creating global communities living loss in new and frightening ways. Loss. Few human beings escape that grief. In gathering these poems, I came to know the tensile strength that weaves loss and regeneration together into a kind of wayfinding.
