Premise 2008

Premise 2008 showcases projects by the MFA Lighting Design graduate program students at Parsons The New School for Design. The Thesis Studio is a critical component to the success of this newly established MFA degree, offering the students opportunity to step outside the boundaries of pragmatism and technical analysis in order to benefit from a deeper level of scholarship, intellectual inquiry and design proposition. Students investigate a topic of their choice, through which they use as a foundation in the spring term to develop a design proposition associated with an actual site in New York City as a means to further explore, challenge and scrutinize hypotheses.
