Aiden has a friend. Problem is, he’s 7 states away. Micah wants to meet, too, so he takes action. After sneaking onto an airplane, they finally meet. However, Micah’s mom doesn’t know about this, and so she searches. Unfortunately, after she threatens to ground him for life, the two friends realize they have to run away. When they run away, their parents file a report to the police. And then they have to run away again. They hide in the woods, where they meet Spot, Micah’s cat. They continue running away, where cops chase them down to a cliff. But the rest is spoilers. The book flips between Washington and Delaware after Aiden steals a cash register from the convenience store that somehow has enough money to buy plane tickets.
