Consumerism endeavors to reconcile socialism and capitalism. It is a grand third alternative to these two systems. The book describes a way to eliminate poverty and unemployment, stop inflation and find ways for government revenue without imposing taxes. A lot of the current problems of socialism and capitalism are effectively resolved in this theory of consumerism. This system is intended to remove the self defeating conflict between social and capital elements of economies without losing the benefits that social and capital elements provide, including but not limited to, social safety nets and capital initiative and incentive.
