There were a few punk bands during the ‘UK82’ phase who included humour in their work but, to be fair to them, they were gormless cretins. ACTION PACT were the sole exception that successfully, and naturally, mixed inventive humour with biting social commentary, which is what made them such standout characters in a lukewarm scene that ran almost meekly alongside the harder hitting, albeit musically mundane, Anarcho scene. Action Pact had vocal ferocity and great tunes. In this sleek volume you will find a variety of imagery, starting in 1981 where you will find them playing or posing in and around their local Stanwell pub, The Happy Landing, rehearsing in the local youth club, and recording two John Peel sessions in London. From 1982 there are gigs at the Chelmsford Y Club, the Iberico Centre, in a studio or two, and rehearsing. 162 black and white photos in all.
