Fantom Of The Fair (COIL)
Midcentury Comics #605-CL: The Amazing Tales of the Golden Age Vigilante Justice-Seeking Hero!
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
FANTOM OF THE FAIR (later FANTOMAN) was one of the first costumed and masked heroes of the Golden Age (1939), one of the most mysterious, and at times most ruthless. His first headquarters and field of operations was the New York Worlds Fair, where he thwarted the evil plans of many criminals and villains. Who he was, where he came from, what drove his efforts to protect the fair and the world, no one knows, but he quickly built a reputation that struck fear into those who would commit dastardly deeds in his city. FANTOM OF THE FAIR aka FANTOMAN appeared in Amazing Mystery Funnies and four issues of his own series – titled Amazing Adventure Funnies for the first issues and then FANTOMAN #2-4. This is the largest collection of FANTOM ever put in print, and presented in chronological order. We have included reprints where published, to make this a true part of comic history.
NOTE: We are missing five pages which would make this collection complete; we need two pages from Amazing Mystery Funnies #21 and three from Fantoman #4 – if you have any of these, contact us for great rewards!
