Not Only Mans Best Friend

The next day you came home from the hospital. You were so small. I couldn’t believe your little face. We brought you into the house, the entire family was there to welcome you. It had been a couple minutes. When out of the laundry room comes this howl. It wouldn’t stop. We walked to the room thinking something might be wrong with the puppies. At three weeks they’re tender. We ran to them and there’s Ginger. That little guy was sitting on his butt. Your mother was holding you. That dog looked in your direction and didn’t take its eyes off you. It was love at first sight. It might have been puppy love, but it was the real thing.
