A History of Poland for Secondary Schools

This is a history of Eastern Europe from Mieszko (900) through to Lech Walensa. It contains lots of illustrations and regular tests which grow more and more advanced through the book,. Lots of maps to copy. Lots of short passages in simple English which are graded so that they slowly get more difficult. No previous knowledge necessary.

About Mike Stallard

As you can see I am a retired teacher. What you can't see is my experience over the past five years here in Eastern England as the tide of Eastern Europeans came in, flooded and then receded. Today we have a lot of permanent settlers who have children. These children know absolutely nothing about their country and they are often embarrassed to speak their mother's tongue. Apart from a very long hard to pronounce surname, you would think they were English. Hence the book. I have a good degree in History. I tried (and failed) to speak Polish. I have a lot of other qualifications and was a Vicar in the C of E until 1989. I am now a Catholic, living with my very patient wife who suggested I wrote this book to shut me up for a bit. My hobby is making Polish trains from Modelik, Poland.
