By the Shore of a Western Sea

By the Shore of a Western Sea (Revised Second Edition) is a gender rebalanced, egalitarian interpretive translation of the traditional Daily Siddur, the Jewish prayer book for weekdays. Jewish prayers are usually communal, but sometimes we daven alone. This book is for those times. Each prayer and meditation is presented as an English language poem, opposite the traditional Hebrew prayer on which it is based. A Guide to Daily Choices suggests ways to integrate these poems, prayers and meditation practices into the six days of daily life. (Please note that because Lulu does not yet accommodate right to left Hebrew books, the rear cover is displayed as if it were the front cover. The book itself presents its English poems in a right to left direction that mirrors the Hebrew that inspires them. It sounds unusual but it is easy to read in practice.)
