In 1919, a U.S. Army crew of pilots and aircraft mechanics flew around the perimeter of the U.S. They set off from Bolling Field, Washington, D.C., under the command of General "Billy" Mitchell. They flew the very first bomber designed by Glenn Martin, named the GMB. Their heroic and remarkable achievements, chronicled in GMB's log books are recounted through descriptive narrative by the author, Miriam Orr Seymour, herself a pilot.
