46b) CDS I. Glossary of Words in use in Cornwall

To launch our series of facsimile reprints of Cornish dialect books, we are republishing this 1880 dictionary written for the English Dialect Society. Miss M.A. Courteney covers the dialect of West Cornwall, while the East is dealt with by Thomas Quiller Couch. The dialect can be difficult at times for non-natives to understand, so hopefully this reference work will be found helpful. As there are so many otherwise unattested Celtic words and idioms in the dialect, it is also relevant to students of Kernewek.
