Mechanos

A village idiot in Ancient Greece is taken on by Mechanos, a rapidly aging Teslian-like inventor who seeks to empower, feed and liberate the common man, but who also made deals with the Priests who control the commoners by using Mechanos’ inventions to make the people think that said priests are in direct contact with the gods. Mechanos hopes that he can educate the village idiot to be his co-worker then replacement and before the Priests gain so much control that they will destroy everything. The tale is told from the perspective of the village idiot whose intelligence level goes from barely anything to something so advanced that he can’t handle it, and doesn’t want to.
