Africa's Lost Generations and other Essays
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
The title is a euphemism for Africa's Redundant Generations, signifying the increasing number whose mental development is negatively affected by the continent's choice of a formal education culture as the major cause for African social and economic underperformance. The essay shows why Africans are not getting as educated as counterparts in countries where the functions of education are being realized, why, in general, Africans who go through the full education process will inevitably suffer from arrested mental development, hence become "lost", i.e. incapable of making a contribution that can make a difference to the continent's quest for socio-economic prosperity
