Dona: The quintessential female gangster
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
Dona Rose Diablo is a 16-year-old African American girl from Detroit, Michigan. After losing her mother to cancer when she was only 13, Dona is subjected to the harsh and abusive treatment of her father, Antonio Diablo. Left with no one to turn to except for her childhood best friend, Maxine, Dona sets out on her own, moves away from her father and into the home of Ms. Audrey (Maxine's mother) and Max. At 17, with both parents deceased and school, now, signed off of her to-do-list, Dona tries her hand in the drug trade. In just months, her notoriety and her bank account begin to grow, reaching unthinkable heights. Trying to maintain a lavish lifestyle and keep everyone happy at the same time, Dona loses the focus and allows her empire to be infiltrated-- not once, but twice. The million-dollar question, now, is, can she pull it back together or will she crumble just as everything around her has begun to do? A wise man once said, “Keep your friends close to you, and your enemies even closer.”
