The Devious Crump is a mixed-media picture story starring the squat, spiky Crump, a monster who uses his magic eyes to hypnotize animals and people, and then steals from them. One day, the Crump ventures into town for his usual mischief and meets his match in a flower girl named Jean Elamoo who seems to be immune to his powers. The little monster tries trick after trick to no avail. When he learns Jean's secret, and must run from a Crump-hunting Prince, the Crump learns a valuable lesson.
