While not advanced among most of his modern-day following, Bullinger subscribed to the doctrine of a pre-tribulational rapture (or that the Christian church will be gathered back to Christ before the tribulation). Bullinger incorporated this idea into a hyper-dispensationalism, teaching a fundamental distinction between Israel and the Church. Finally, Bullinger did not believe in British Israelism, which posits the lost ten tribes of Israel migrated into Europe to be called Caucasians. With so many present adherents of Bullinger differing somewhat from his ideas of a century ago, there is still much to glean from his writings. The author of this volume has edited Bullinger’s commentary on the Book of Revelation in several useful ways including the dispelling of rapture notions (which alters the orders of the seals, trumps, and vials). Refining Bullinger’s method of verse referencing, this commentary includes the complete scripture.
