The Ingredients of Necrophilia

In popular culture, necrophiliacs are considered sadistic, murderous psychopaths. Some well-known necrophiliacs include Edmund Kemper, Jeffrey Dahmer, and Gary Ridgeway, who murdered their victims, then used their victims’ bodies or body parts for their own sexual gratification. However, the following questions should be considered: Are all necrophiliacs homicidal? Are they psychopaths? Are they even sadistic? The answer is “no” on all counts.
