Neale, better known as Travis, grew up in Alaska and spent time in Washington and Oregon while completing his undergraduate degree at Pacific Lutheran University. He now resides with his wife in Powell, Wyoming. He has held multiple jobs in his professional career and has taken his experiences in the last ten years to write his first poetry compilation, Whispers to Words. He is also working on his first novel, and hopes to complete it by summer of 2012. His poetic idols include William Stafford, Walt Whitman, and e.e. cummings. He credits his parents in influencing him to love literature, reading at a young age. He started writing poetry when he was eleven years old, and fell in love with it in college under the tutelage of the late Richard Jones. Travis likens his poetry to social commentary, love letters, and communication with his readers. To Travis, time isn't relevant, but rather life is one continual moment lived through constant change.
