Poetry and paintings from a trip to the south of Italy in the summer of 2017, centering around the act of painting Vesuvio, painting the mountain from Pompei to Seiano, dreaming of Vesuvio in Rome (&NJ &SF), remembering its smoke from the boat from Capri to Napoli, experiencing a certain color blue in a sea cave, Nilaya and I swimming into the Grotta Azzura, her first memory of a color or of anything.. driving the immortal road of Amalfi, walking down some steps, watching sunset over the volcano and eating mindblowing lobster pasta.
