This book brings to life the knowledge, skills, travels, and wisdom that Helen Hosmer—a lover of choral music, cats, and composers—provided to her students and community for over four decades. She served for 44 years at the Crane School of Music on the Potsdam campus of the State University of New York. For 36 of those years, she served as the Dean of Crane. More than just a music teacher, she travelled extensively, not only taking students on European study and choral performance tours but also making trips at the behest of the US government promoting arts and cultural exchanges.
